Call for Papers and Exciting Changes!

Dear Readers,

My name is Victoria Kurdyla, and I am the new editor for Sociation. I am writing to you with an exciting series of announcements regarding the journal!

As the new editor, I invite you to share your work for our upcoming issue! We encourage you to submit your original research articles (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method), short research notes, teaching notes and lesson guides, review articles, policy papers, and replications and reanalysis of existing work. Though authors are encouraged to submit concise manuscripts, there is not a strict word or page limit due to the online format of the journal.

I am also excited to announce that Sociation will be introducing a “Commentary” segment of the journal designed to discuss timely issues and research in a way that is accessible to the general public. As a journal rooted in a commitment to public sociology, this segment will contain rigorous scholarship in a concise, jargon-free, and engaging format.

For submission guidelines, please visit the following link: https://sociation.ncsociologyassoc.org/submission-guidelines/submission-guidelines/ Submissions, as well as any questions you may have, can be directed to sociation@uncp.edu.

Finally, Sociation is looking for guest editors to curate special issues on important and relevant topics to the discipline. Any topic is welcome. Recently, past topics have included: Racism and Sexism in Virtual Comic and Gaming Environments and COVID-19, Disability, and the Sociological Imagination. If you are interested in editing a special issue, please email sociation@uncp.edu with a title and description of your special issue topic. Selected editors will then be asked to develop a call for submissions for their special issue.
